ANON. OPTICS

DIGITAL DESIGNER @ BURTON SNOWBOARDS
BURLINGTON, VT
MARCH 2013 - MARCH 2015

Company
Anon Optics is Burton's premium eyewear and protection brand, combining innovative lens technology with performance-driven design for athletes and mountain enthusiasts.
Role
At Burton Snowboards, I helped shape the digital experience for Anon Optics across the 2014 and 2015 seasons. The work spanned UX strategy, responsive web design, and product storytelling—developing wireframes, grid systems, user flows, navigation, and mobile-first layouts for the brand’s evolving e-commerce experience. In parallel, I contributed to the design and prototyping of a companion mobile app that allowed riders to document their days, explore lens tints through AR/live view, and customize goggle, helmet, and lens combinations in real time. Supporting work included photo retouching, digital and print advertising, in-store displays, and social content creation.

TRACK YOUR DAYS ON SNOW

Capture details about your days spent snowboarding all year long. Using the Rider Journal, you can upload photos and jot down details like snowfall amount, anon goggles worn and any special notes about the day. The Journal also keeps track of the number of days you go snowboarding during the season.

VIEW LENS TINTS LIVE ON SNOW

With this feature your iPhone will use the camera lens as a view finder to capture actual surroundings. Then, you can point the phone at whatever you want (say the base lodge or the mountain) and see how it would look under any anon lens tint. The tool allows you to swipe from the darkest to the lightest lens tint so you can see which color lens you prefer for the day’s conditions.
